Need help with identification of fruit

islandhippie(10a)August 15, 2013

I found this fruit on my morning walk today. I believe it is in the Passiflora family by the leaves & fruit. It is a small red fruit with a very thin skin. Filled with tons of sweet jelly-like fruit surrounding seed.
I live on subtropical FL island where we have many wild passion fruit vines around and just wondering if this is another one I just found.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

It's "Red Pig"!!! In Vietnam we kids picked these fruits still green and added two eyes and ears, and we placed them in our little farm toy.

It's from a vine sort of look like melon kind of vine. We don't eat them and I don't know why.
