Your flowers certainly jumped ahead of mine in the early blooming category. Only my roses and mountain laurels are showing color. Well, except for the four nerve daisy which never stops. There are lots of buds though.
Thank you for posting the pictures! They make the waiting that much sweeter with anticipation.
That's an amazing number of beautiful blooms so early. I haven't even planted my sunflower seeds yet. Better get busy I see!
My columbines gave up in last years heat.
Oh, Kathy.....how beautiful, and you are at least three weeks ahead of me.
So nice to see some flowers! We are a long ways from having any summer color. Thanks for sharing yours.
The bees are loving the poppies. Those are the only ones to bloom, yet. They have been in that spot for several years.
That sunflower is a surprise. I think it came from the bird sunflower seed. I remember about 8 years ago I saw short sunflowers growing by acres and acres in the Rio Grande valley. They were grown for commercial use.
Thanks for looking.
Pretty, Kathy. My Gerberas and African daisies are blooming and the ground orchids have been beautiful, but the columbines don't even have buds yet.If we don't hit the 100's too soon, maybe we'll have a banner year.
OH MY! I wish I could smell them too! My Tx Mountain Laurel is set to bloom for the first time very soon. Can't wait! Thanks for the ridiculously gorgeous photos!
Just beautiful Kathy! My columbines haven't even produced buds yet!
What are the purple flowers in picture 4? The purple flowers just below the first batch of columbines look like duranta. Are they?
Pam, the purple blooms are TX mt. Lauren.
Kathy your blooms are beautiful. I wish I could grow the Tx mountain Laurel at the coast, I have tried so many times, finally figured out they cannot grow in salty soil. Barbra
Kathy, you have some beautiful flowers. My TX MT Laurel is beginning to bloom also.
What variety of poppy is that? Is it always dark red? I'm looking for one that isn't orangy. thanks, Lou
Lou, it is corn poppy. Like Flanders field poppies. They are always red, never orange.
Lovely!! I love the deep red poppies.
All are beautiful. The poppies are the MOST beautiful! : )
