I am planning on planting some blackberries next year. The variety that seems to get the best reviews in Utah is the Navajo. Has anybody tried this or other blackberry varieties? What were the results?

I have found that here in central Utah the season is to short and to cold for these berries! They produce fruit on last years new canes!! Well there those canes freeze and die! The reds do pretty good. Blacks do ok but not a great!
