Can anyone tell what this tree is? Sorry, another tree with pink flowers...

Looks like Mimosa to me. I love them--maybe not as a tree per se, but as a big bodaciously beautiful, and graceful without equal, ornamental perennial.

My friend Linda M. wrote in an email recently:

"I bought one of the new red mimosas called FLAME. LOVE mimosas! Cut ants, gophers, deer..nobody bothers them and they are so dang drought tolerant! Major childhood memory for me too."

She says the blooms are more of dark pink than true red.

There is also a fairly new dark leafed variety. I think they call it 'Chocolate'.

Wish I had a place to put one.
