Carolina Jessamine vine (FREE)

mistascott(7A VA)May 20, 2013

I have a Carolina jessamine vine free for the taking. It is the species, not a hardy cultivar like 'Margarita.' I don't have a location with enough sunlight for it to flower well.

One large caveat is that this is a highly poisonous vine -- so not recommended for gardens frequented by children or dogs. Just a few ingested leaves or flowers can kill a small child. So, please take my warning seriously -- this can be a very dangerous plant, but the flowers in early Spring are truly magnificent.

Other caveat is that this vine is marginally hardy in northern VA to Zone 7 officially, but it may not survive single digit temps (it survived our 10 degree minimum temp last winter).
Please let me know if you are interested.

Full sun... but it can do okay in 4-5 hours but probably will flower less.

I am so sorry, I didn't receive the notification that you had responded.
Are you still trying to get rid of it?
