When to pick Noni fruit

I have a Noni plant and it has fruit on it the size of a walnut. When is it ripe to pick?

The size of a walnut seems too small. My family in Trinidad grow Noni. Usually they're the size of a large apple. You will notice they turn white and they'll get soft. What out for the odor they produce. We Usually put the ripe noni in a plastic bag, and the liquid that get squeezed out is what you drink.
