Where to get Heirloom Tomato Plants in East Texas?

moo_(EastTX)February 28, 2011

Are there any nurseries that carry heirloom tomatoes? Are there any commercial growers that grow them??

I want a good variety of heirloom tomato plants but I can't find anything other than the occasional beefsteak or homestead. Anyone have a good source for plants (Not Seeds!)

I need about 40-50 plants.

East Texas covers a lot of area....unlike say, east Rhode Island. I was over at DG and found a page for:
Local Garden Centers & Nurseries.
You type in where you are and you get a list of some local nurseries. I found a couple I didn't know about close to my piney wood hill.

I would suggest Blue Moon Garden near Tyler. They have an excellent assortment of many plants and vegetables. Well worth the trip!

If Houston is within driving range of you, Buchanan's on 11th in the Heights has TONS of tomatoes -- heirloom and hybrid. Healthy and all about 9" tall or so.
