Bower Vine, seed pod???

daw_etc(8 Cen CA)March 13, 2009

I found a seed pod on a white bower vine today...and being silly me, I didn't know what it was so I pulled it off and cut it open to find out (haha). So I was wondering, how can I tell if I pulled it off too soon or something? Will the seeds still work? The pod is large....longer than my middle finger. Was very hard when I squeezed it. Green, same color as the leaves....Any ideas?

If the seeds are usable, how should I plant them?

Thanks!!!

I wait till the pod turns brown, on the vine, and starts to split, before picking. The seeds are viable.
