Small flowers on Heavenly Blue Morning Glories

mazelady(2)June 17, 2013

I planted Heavenly Blue in pots . They are growing nicely but the blooms are small (about 2-3 inches wide). I thought Heavenly Blues are supposed to have big flowers.

I have not fertilized but I did use a standard potting mix which may have had some fertlizer in it.

May we see photos of the flowers (and please include a rear view showing the sepals) as it is often the case that plants are mislabeled by the source , which includes seeds in packets from large companies...

It could be something else, I agree. Heavenly Blue typically doesn't make flowers until later in the summer but you're in a higher heat zone so your garden has been growing well for a while while ours are just now taking off.
