I planted it with my spinach but it doesn't look like the rest of my spinach plants... ideas?
looks like swiss chard to me
A guy at A&M who works in the veggie area said he thought it as the 'Scarlet' cultivar of spinach.
... but thanks! :-)
It's pretty enough for an ornamental!
What a pretty spinach! A Google search turned up a photo of 'Scarlet' spinach (the leaf shape looked the same as was the color) and this information:
"A hybrid red veined cultivar from Daehnfeldt which adds color to the baby leaf spinach market. Resistant to Powdery mildew."
By the way, if you want a picture to show up as it does when pkponder posted them copy and paste the Photobucket HTML code into the message box.

It looks like the Bordeaux Spinach that I have grown for a couple of years. YUM.
Wow...that is new to me too! The leaf looks like arugula. How does it taste?
The bordeaux was very tasty and a good grower through the winter but it did bolt sooner than my other variety wich is advertised as a more heat resistant type. So no surprise there.
