Any tips on growing mountain pea?

bostedo(8a tx-bp-dfw)April 19, 2014

Finally located a few mountain pea plants at Redentas in Dallas to try as ground cover. The Austin grower didn't cite a variety, but pretty sure it's orbexilum melanocarpum (or similar hybrid) rather than o. pedunculatum (Sampson's snakeroot). Does anyone have experience with this? Info appears scarce, so would appreciate any advice, but especially how much direct sun it can actually handle and how/if it can be propagated to fill in as ground cover. TIA

Here is a link that might be useful: Mountain Pea (Orbexilum sp.)
