Mexican Flame Vine question

ruthzAugust 31, 2009

I just bought a Mexican Flame Vine, but before I plant it I want to be sure it's not invasive like trumpet vine.

I've pulled it up on searchs and this forum and I don't see anything that suggest it is. If you've had one for several years I'd love to hear from you.

Hi Ruth - I am in Texas too. I germinated some seeds of it and they grew to about 3 feet and bloomed. The blooms were great, even though the vine was small! I didn't see any way, that it would be invasive. I hope, my seeds will grow for next spring! Good Luck. tina_2

I've had it for three or four years and have never found a seedling or sucker.

I have traded for a small one last year and this fall planted it in the ground. Today it is a has grown leaps and bound and started to flower again. It will self root.
