Small vines for partial shade

forensicmomNovember 30, 2008

Can anyone recommend a climbing vine, preferably flowering that will work in partial shade (from about 11am to 4pm)? I'm in zone 7 and would prefer it get no taller then 6-8'.

I have many varieties of clematis and a few climbing roses but they're all in full sun.

I bet you could train a vinca alba to grow up a trellis. The only other thing I can think of is climbing hydrangea, but that will get huge.

Look up Jasminum officinale, it is highly desirable for indoor growing. It has a delightful fragrance and blooms in spring and fall.
