Turtle found in garage

paulsiu(5a)March 26, 2012

I went out gardening and come back and heard a scratching noise. Much to my surprise, it was a turtle (probably a red slider).

There is a football field size man-made wetland in the back of the house, I figure it came from there and released it. It crawled into the muck and disappeared.

Now I am wondering if I had done the right thing. What if I release the turtle into the wrong area? This is the first time I even seen a turtle in the area. I usually get a lot of toads in my yard, but not turtles.

It's got to be better than your garage! I would have done the same thing.

Red Sliders are water turtles : ) He was probably on his way there when he got sidetracked.
