Grassy Weed ID - WI

mn_pikeMay 29, 2009

My family moved into a house two years ago and I have been slowly improving the health of the lawn, but am not too good on weed identification. The below is a grassy weed that seems to seed out like wheat after it is only a couple inches tall. I pulled a weed before I mowed last night and have some pictures attached.

That looks like perennial rye grass to me, but I am not an expert. Maybe a lawn expert could confirm or deny it. Or, google it and see if it is what you have.

Geez, at this stage, could be several. Also look at annual bluegrass, Poa annua.
