Fruitcake Seeds

gee_oh_nyc(6b/7a)October 26, 2008

Legend has it that there is only one fruitcake in the world and it just keeps getting passed from house to house. Do you think this ever happens with seeds?

Thought it might be worth a good-natured-chuckle to tell each other about those packs of seeds that we just keep trying to pass along but keep coming back.

Thanks again to all who have traded!

Ok, I'll bite!

Does anyone ever grow Purple Top White Globe Turnips? I made the mistake of buying two packets in the spring. I planted half a packet. They grew. I found out my husband and I hate turnips. I let them go to seed.

I have had the SAME packet of turnip seeds come back to me in various trades!

I've gotten some of my own packets back too. I guess the swap host, in the end of her sorting, though that my name being on the label meant they were FOR me, and forgot that everything coming out of my envy had that! I know that doing all of that sorting has to be really mentally exhausting, so it was no biggie.

I also had a group swap where I sent in 3 packets of yellow 4 O'clocks. I got back...3 packs of yellow 4 O'clocks, from _different_ traders. So then, I couldn't even feel sure they were truly yellow, and I worried when I did trade them on! :)
