Help me ID This Plant - Probably a Weed

cindysunshine(5b)July 11, 2010

I have been cultivating this plant for months in my front borders where it is growing rather purposefully along the front walk. I was thinking it was maybe a feverfew or something but now it is about 3' tall and the flowers emerged from tiny buds with just a few yellow petals that never seem to develop further from the 2nd photo.

I'm in central Illinois.

What is this thing? It probably is time to yank it out. ;)

My apologies for the duplicate post! I couldn't find it the first time - it must be time for a nap. ;)

Looks like one of the bidens, maybe Bidens bipinnata?
