Delicate tiny vine

quaker495August 1, 2014

For those of you who check both forums, I posted this in Name that Plant before I realized it was a better fit for the Weeds forum. It grows quickly and forms a tight coil around other plant stems. I don't think it is Bindweed because the leaves are long rather than arrow shaped. Although it grows to a very long length, the leaves and stem remain thin and delicate. I just pull it up and am not looking for help eradicating it, would just like to know the name.

Actually, without casting aspersions and not knocking the many good botanists here, there is a greater concentration of knowledgeable plant identifiers over on NTP. All weeds are plants and all plants are grist to NTP's mill.

You had two replies over there last time I looked.

Indeed, the NTP forum identified this as Asparagus asparagoides.
