Storing Daffodils

mommyfox(7)June 5, 2008

Ok, so I have a bed of daffodils that's about to be disturbed, possibly removed entirely. How can I store the bulbs? Should I plant them again immediately, or can I dust them with something, let them dry and pack 'em away like I do my caladiums in the winter?

Replant them as soon as possible. The bulbs just sit underground, waiting for their timer to go off in the spring. While you are replanting, a little bone meal or rotted manure wouldn't hurt. I envy you a whole bed of daffodils!

How deep are daffodils supposed to be. I got a box full that In the mail with the foliage still intact a couple of months ago and replanted right away but now that the foliage is gone I keep finding bulbs popping up with no roots when I pull grass and weeds out.
