My feelings on weeds

As kimmsr has said many, many, many times - weeds are only plants in places that we don't want them.

Yes, "weeds" do many things that humans view as negative, but are they?

All plants have a place in the environment or they wouldn't be there in the first place. However, we humans define weeds as those plants that interfere with: the production of food crops for us, that interfere with the development of monocultures of our precious turf, that are "invasive" in that they come from other enviroments and displace existing species.

But, you know what, species compete with each other and dominate or recede. If humanity has blended and created this mess, humanity will have to deal with what it has, in its vision of perfection blindly screwed up.

Sound fatalistic? Nah. Ma nature will ameliorate all in time.

Sit back and enjoy the ride. It is out of control, so it's up to Ma.

Many of the plants we call "weeds" are what others call wild flowers. For some people Queens Annes Lace is a "weed" that must be erradicated and yet it is a food source for many beneficial insects. Many people view Dandelions as something that must be erradicated at all costs, yet it is an early spring food source for our pollinators.
Every plant, even those we like to dislike, serves a purpose.
