The local ordinace states I am not allowed to place a fence on my property but does this include tree's?

The house is on a busy highway and I would like to block the view and make the backyard safe for kids.

gregg,

Check with the City zoning office to see if the definition of fence is interpreted to include trees or other vegetative screening.

Also remember that blocking views of your house with trees or other vegetation prevents neighbors, local police or security service patrols from seeing criminal activity at your house too.
