what can i use?
Post a picture of the insect and the leaf damage, please.
this is is a pic of the pepper and cucumber plants. i cut the tomatoe leaves already
i cut tomatoes leaves already heres my pepper and cucumber plants
Flea beetles? My tomatoes are getting bothered by them too. Funny because at the beginning of the season they preferred eggplant, so I planted some radishes to take the heat off the eggplant and they LOVED those. When I removed the radishes I guess they decided that tomato leaves are tasty!
Can I spray them at 10am or is it too sunny out??
I wouldn't risk killing the bees!
Flea beetle damage is not a biggie for me on tomatoes. For leaf crops it's devastating.
Maybe others can chime in and say whether it's worth using chemicals for these.
Diatamaceous earth would be an organic choice.
I have never seen any insects interested in eating tomato leaves. Not talking about hornworms.
I was gonna use dish soap/rubbing alcohol / mixture
If you think it will work go for it!
what else could i try?
malathion works on leaf eating insects and is ok for use on tomatoes....and not too expensive
why r the leaves turning yellow tho
Flea beetles just love eggplants. And like peppers too. But have not seen them eat tomato laves.
Flea beetle damage is only crucial when the plants are in seedling stage. They cannot cause any significant harm to mature plants. AND spraying cannot kill them because they have wings and fly away .
There are other insects/bugs that eat peppers (NOT tomatoes), like slugs and earwigs.
So I think you need to positively identify the insect and then go after them.
how can i identify them ... i dont see any out there lol
can i put natural slug pellets down for now?
seems they are affter peppers and cucumbers mostly and bottom pepper leaves are turning yellow
Your pictures look like what is happening to my tomato leaves and egg plant and pepper leaves. I noticed underneath the egg plant leaves is smooth but the tops have white dots on them. These dots become holes. The tomato leaves eventually curl up, and get crispy. Based on this suggestions on his post, I'll continue insecticide soap for peppers and egg plant. For the tomatoes, I try the Safer BT until I can get some malathion.
look at the cucumbers??
