Grape Vine Beetles

ozzmannJune 12, 2009

Last year I moved into a house and was very excited to find that there were grape vines growing along my fence in the backyard. Clusters of grapes had started growing, then beetles started eating the leaves on it (and only the grape vine leaves) and pretty much demolished it. The grapes never got any bigger, or ripened. Does anyone know what kind of beetle this is, and how to get rid of them? it is greenish in color, and has black stripes running down it's back.

google cucumber beetle and see if that's it. I generally don't have them on my grapes though, mostly japanese beetles.
