Promoting your new book

pinetree30(Sierra Westside)February 24, 2008

Is there anybody out there who has a recent book (or not so recent) and is interested in contributing ideas on this forum for promoting it? Let me start the conversation---

My publisher has made up postcards. The outside is a pic of my very colorful cover. The reverse gives the book info and ordering information; and 50-word description of the book, all on the left side, with the right side open for addressing. I have sent out about a hundred to friends, bookstores, arboreta, university forestry departments etc.

These are also good to use as brochures, for leaving around after lectures, or passing out to interested parties.

Lecture as much as possible and get your book--or your subject with mention of your book--written about as much as possible.
