Is this an elderberry tree?

spiritwild(6)September 29, 2013

the leaves resemble the elderberry but from the pictures I have viewed, none have the group bunching like this one.
the berries grow at the top but not on a single node, they are in groups of ten or so.

Just curious.

photo is top branch of tree.
they are young, about 8 ft in height and have thorns along the bark. some others were 20-25' tall.

It is not elderberry. Could it be Aralia spinosa?
