San Marzano Organic Question: BER Worries
Ok, I noticed yesterday on my wee (getting not so wee! =) ) San Marzano's that some have a brownish-black tip on the end of them, probably where the dead blossom hung on for a while. It appears as though the dead blossom doesn't fall off very well with this variety (never seen this before...). Then, a week or so after tomato formation, it kind of "melts" into the bottom part of the tomato. Is this bad...should I be worried? I have started picking off the dead blossoms on both my San Marzzano plants. I'm worried the "melting" of them onto the ends/bottoms of the maters may be a cause of BER with this variety. Thoughts? Any & all help appreciated. I can take a pic later & post on this thread if that will help.
