Hi again Kym and everyone,
Again, thank you Kym, I'm about to email you my addy and list of GW names I'm intending to send things to, wrote the list, turned out way longer than intended.
IF we were meeting in real, how much more seeds and all we'd share!! Weren't it for the stamps! I'd send to everyone! But , this is great fun, get to exchange something little with many -from a lot of parts of the country!
Some of you have SNOW? Please post the pictures if you can. We get good snow once a decade, guess reason we get more excited -a rare happening.

have to get some emails done, later all, have fun, best wishes,
Bea

Lisa, good your family is helping you, take care and you'll make plenty of fudge soon!

Want to post your FUDGE recipe? I'm sure you'd be glad knowing it'll be on our Thanksgiving menu.

Of course, it'd be lightened by me as I've had to watch what I eat, unless of course it's already light.
I'm making turkey with lots of garlic and herbs, doesn't need any salt that way but I use about 1/4 in sea salt anyway.

Hey, time for sharing some favorite recipes you'll be making soon?

have a great weekend,
Bea

I already see a lot of wishes I can fill, so I guess I'd better join!

Since I'm also in another big swap, it would probably be best if you look at my exchange page if you're sending me anything, since I'll probably be fiddling with it a bit in the next week or so.

However, as of this posting, here is my list:

Bean - some kind of runner bean; Dragon Tounge Bean; purple podded snap beans; cool looking dry beans
Broccoli Raabe
Broccoli - Romanesco, or any heirloom
Cauliflower - especially a purple variety
Celery - a red variety
Carrot - some kind of stubby carrot that would do well in heavy soil; non-orange varieties
Corn Salad
Dill - a slow bolting variety
Leek - any heirloom variety
Lettuce - any interesting heirloom varieties
Kale - any heirloom variety
Pea - Dwarf Grey Sugar
Parsley Root
Parsnip - especially a short variety
Peppers - something from the species C. baccatum or C. pubescens
Tomato - Riesentraube
Turnip - any heirloom variety, mild tasting ones preferred
Sorrel
Squash - Tromboncino

As you can probably see, my passion is heirloom vegetables, and if you have a really awesome heirloom you'd like to send me that's not on my list, I wouldn't mind at all. :-)

The One Problem This Christmas
by Connie Webb

The presents look lovely
The egg nog looks great
The gingerbread men look like they could dance
I got a great man to date
But there's no toilet paper in the bathroom.

The china is grand
Boy does the silver shine
Love those Christmas phone calls
The decorations of red and green divine
But there's no toilet paper in the bathroom.
The stockings so lovely
The mantel with greens
The smell of the pine boughs
The best scent ever it seems
But there's no toilet paper in the bathroom
And I don't know what to do
But Merry Christmas everyone
Just hope you don't have to poo.

Lisa, yummy recipe I am sure, makes me wish I was back to years ago when I could have sugar without worries ( watched fat and salt intakes for years but cookies and pralines were too much for me last May) Now I know no matter what it's best to use sugar and fat in moderation or NO SUGAR, for me anyway, suggest this to everyone, for you too, because I'm a friend.

Just found this recipe for HEALTHY CHOCOLATE FUDGE BARS, looks good, giving it a try, might add some peanut butter.

So Lisa, because of you bringing in fudge, chocolate lovers here will enjoy it too, thank you very much.
Others will too, can't control anyone's habits, but suggesting, enjoy!

Kim, great chocolate milk, can always use Splenda, thank you.

Here is something most folks will be able to enjoy. P.S. Hey Bea my sis is diabetic too so I will look up some recipes for her .If I find something good I will be sure to post it for you and our other diabetic friends.

Mamie Eisenhower's Favorite Million Dollar Fudge

Ingredients

* 4 1/4 cups granulated sugar
* 1 pinch salt
* 1 2/3 cups evaporated milk (one 12 ounce can)
* 2 tablespoons butter
* 2 cups semisweet chocolate pieces

* 3 (4 ounce) semi-sweet chocolate baking squares
* 1 pint marshmallow creme (two 7 ounce jars)
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 cups chopped pecans

Directions

1
In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, salt, milk, and butter. Bring to a vigorous boil, stirring often; then reduce heat and simmer 6 minutes, stirring continuously.

2
Meanwhile, place the chocolate, Marshmallow Creme and vanilla into a large bowl. Gradually pour boiling syrup over the chocolate-marshmallow mixture and beat until chocolate is melted. Stir in nuts.

3
Pour into a buttered pan ( I used a buttered 11 x 16-inch jellyroll pan) and store in a cool place several hours to harden before cutting into 1-inch squares.

4
Store in a covered tin; keeps up to 6 months in a cool place.

Enjoy all and happy Thanksgiving.

Hello all Jordan and I are back from Disney and had a wonderful time.

On the morning of her 5th birthday, Jordan went to the Bibbidi Boppidy Boutique to get dressed up like a real princess. Her hair, makeup dress, shoes crown and wand were all done/given to her. She later went to a tea party to learn how to be a real princess. She learned how to be a proper princess.

For 2 days she was a "real princess". On the night of her second day I asked her if she wanted to be a princess on our last day and she said "Well, tomorrow I think I want to be a child. It is very hard work being a princess all the time." I guess sitting with your ankles crossed and your hands gently in your lap, using your best manners, giving all the kind people thank you's and curtseys and granting dreams and wishes was more than a little girl could take lol.

I have made quite a list of seeds to send out. Did the addresses get sent yet or are they yet to come?

I need to make up a better list and will see if I have the time. I would just be happy to get a few cards.

Kim, great for Jordan and you to have been to a wonderful world. Jordan knew what was more fun! Imagine you took plenty of pics.

Hey...everyone, take it easy on the sugar! Prevention helps a bunch.
Don't be like me and others who started omitting sugar after the damage was done.

best wishes,
Bea

Hey Klorentz, good seeing you here!
I'm not missing sugar at all, there are many alternatives, eventually we get used to less sugar too.
With me it was my Birthday and Mother's day, decided to make pecan pralines, mostly sugar..my blood pressure was already high but I was naive.
So you all make sure you check your blood pressure before indulging in white sugar.

Will do Bea. Been lucky in the blood pressure dept. That's one thing I have been OK on.We have some Splenda on hand that can be used for baking.BIL has to do things about 50/50 cuz of my Sis and cuz it diabetes runs in my family. Have to watch the sodium to.Found some good stuff low in sodium other than Mrs Dash (not a bad product)and Nu Salt.My Dad would use one that had hot pepper flakes in it. Not bad really.I might add though watch your starches. taters etc have lots of it so there is another thing to watch.

Since others are sharing their yummy holiday recipes, here, I'd like to share our favorite pie crust recipe. Originally published in the 1955 edition of "Meta Given's Modern Encyclopedia of Cooking", my mother swore by this and now so does my wife, Elly, and her sister, Sharla. Here it is...

Fab, Easy Pie Crust

Ingredients

2c All Purpose Flour
3/4c Shortening (preferably butter flavor)
1/2c Ice Water
1/2tsp Salt

Directions

Cut shortening into flour. Add salt and
ice water. Mix well. Roll out on lightly
floured board.

(The recipe title is my own invention)

Simple, easy, and boy it sure is a great crust! - BTW, I'm diabetic, too. It's reeeeally hard not having a 2nd helping of mashed potatoes and other carbs, but,...I'll be good. Honest. Welllll, maybe a small-small 2nd helping. LOL! - Our family has a lot to be thankful for, including my having joined this wonderful, helpful, fun and generous GW community! --Happy Thanksgiving everyone!--

Hi everyone , hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, lots of good food and spending it with your family and friends :-) I spent a couple more hours going thru my seeds and everyone's wish lists yesterday so now I am almost ready to start mailing ;-) This will be so much fun ! HO HO HO I am one happy little elf !

Kym, that list you just posted yesterday is a list of those who have reported who they are sending to, correct ? not those you have info on ? I will get my list together and send it to you either today or tomorrow ;-) and sending seeds to your friend in memory of her daughter is a wonderful idea ;-)

Grandson, 10, made our Thanksgiving extra nice, quizzing us at the table for a while, wanted to stay longer, his mom said he'll have 2 weeks off for Christmas and they'll stay more than 2 days. Hope my son makes it then too.

Plus need to replace blue ink on the printer, recipes use ink...... wish I could print stamps, lol

Dessert - Angel Food Cake Cupcake, some frosted with fluffy white icing , some with chocolate icing, homemade.
Daughters cleaned up most , thankful for them all anyway.

Ahhhh! It's time to mail cards??!!??...drat my perfectionist genes coupled with procrastination. I'm working on my cards and they will get done soon even though, I've never once acheived perfection. BUT, I will not let you down Santa! Some special gardenwebbers out there will get their cards. Neither superglued fingers, nor glitter catastrophes, nor crayon meltdowns will stop these seeds.
Am I making anyone nervous that they might be getting a card from me??? :D

Well, I finally trimmed down my list and emailed it to Kym, and have most of my seeds sorted and labeled. I rounded up enough BEs, so next I will work on my cards and address labels. But I think I better get some sleep and start in again later today. My DH just came by and asked "'Do you have any ideal what time it is?" As a matter of fact, I did not realize that it had gotten so late (or early). Gggrrr...its 342 am...LOL!!

Iris, if you do, make sure you note on the front of the envelope that it needs to be hand-stamped, and that it contains seeds. This way, it won't be sent through the sorting machines and ripped open. There's a lot more mail going through the postal system right now, which means more accidents will happen. We do our best, but... sometimes things happen.
Hope this helps.

Peace.

I ought to ask my daughters and grandson, they'd come up with answers, like on thanksgiving, laughed to tears, was the best part of the day.
Going to look for crystal bowl, probably will find more cards then, be back with answers,
