I'm growing TTs this year and grew them last year. The taste wasn't outstanding, but ok. But last year most of my toms were kind of bland due to the weather. TTs will grow and give you some fruit over the winter inside as long as you give them lots of light(a very sunny window)and shake or flick the flowers to get them pollinated. You won't get a bumper crop, but it can be fun harvesting a few to toss into a salad in the glum of winter(and cheaper than buying those little gourmet toms).
