Rose bush in the neighborhood

ruthzSeptember 26, 2013

Not a good picture, but I was taking it as I drove past.
I love this rose bush. The roses look small and the bush is loaded in spring. It has rebloomed some over the summer.

When I see the people outside, I plan to stop and ask what it is. I think it might be Caldwell Pink.
Any opinions from someone that grows Caldwell Pink.

Gretchen, it's in the Euless Wilshire area neighborhood.
I used to drive past it everyday taking my grandson to school.
When it was in full bloom in May, I decided I needed to find out what it is and get one.

October 6th is our American Legion Auxiliary 9th Annual Cancer Fundraiser. I always spend the day at that helping out if needed.

I finally saw the homeowners outside yesterday so I stopped and talked to them.
They are a very nice couple, but don't know or remember the name of the rose. They bought it in Tyler a long time ago for $12.??.
It's a very dense shrub type bush about 5' or 6' foot tall loaded with clusters of small maybe 11/2" to 2" pink slight to no fragrance flowers. The flower looks like the Caldwell Pink rose, but the size of the bush doesn't match. They do keep it trimmed so I'm not sure what size it would be.
They offered to root me a cutting. They have several rooting by layering but they aren't ready yet.

Could it be a Rose of Sharon? Not really a Rose, but a shrub, in the Hibiscus family, and can get quite big. Flowers continually during the summer.

It is definitely a rose.
I think it's Caldwell Pink Climbing that they keep trimmed to shrub size, unless there is another rose that looks the same.
It looks exactly like the Caldwell Pink pictures at Rogue Valley Roses.

Doesn't 7 sisters only bloom once a year?
This blooms during the year off and on.
