2 chayote babies, help and a home?

merrybookwyrmNovember 2, 2010

I have two newly potted chayote babies that sprouted from chayote bought at Fiesta. They are posted on the garden exchange as free to a good home!

Just in case no one else has a place for them either, how best to get them through to spring? Bright light? Keep them outside until temperatures go under 40F? Keep them barely damp?

Sigh. I just couldn't bring myself to kill them when they volunteered!

I wish I could help you but I know nothing about chayotes,I would think you can overwinter them as you overwinter lets say a geranium? Marcie

Thank you, Marcie. Treating them like a geranium sounds like a good idea.
