Healthcare - Sign up Now or Wait?
I know this isn't exactly on topic -- but the topic is certainly hot and this group is as informed a bunch as exist...
I'm one of those unfortunate people who will be forced to give up my health insurance plan. Total sarcasm on the "unfortunate" part -- truth on the 'forced to give up' part.
While the ACA is far from perfect, I'm thrilled to discover that for about $200/month less than we're paying now for two CARP (the adjective, not the brand name) health insurance policies, my family will be able to buy a Platinum-level HMO plan from a reputable insurer that included our local hospital and current PCP. Great news, right?
My question is simply this:
Is there any benefit to waiting to sign up? i.e. Should I expect more options in the next few weeks? More competitive pricing?
What I'm seeing now is SO MUCH BETTER than what we currently have, and at a savings of over $200 per month -- I just want to SNAG it before something happens. But I know that eagerness may not be prudent.
