Hi, I have a bunch of leftover ceramic tiles, mostly white or black. Also, I have some tiles that are marble, they were samples but the size of say bathroom tiles for the wall. Any ideas on what to do with tiles?
Karen, the people over at Garden Junk would use them for making a bowling ball. You might ask over there, they would have LOTS of ideas.
You could mosaic a flower pot or table top, I bet it would be really pretty black and white. Picture frames, too.
A mosaic checkerboard on wood. Wish I had them.
This was one of first projects. I used the leftover tile from the shower stall we had put in. It is done over an old terracotta pot. Use tile adhesive to apply to pot. I kept the plain one but the others had the word herb or had small flower tiles (from an old saucer).Grout and voila! I made five last year for presents.
Sorry pic disappeared
You don't have to stick with the black and white. I painted tiles with oven bake "glass paints". You can stencil designs onto them... or do as I did and paint them to look like Victorian China... then break the pieces and use them for mosaics. I covered a pitcher with them and you'd never know it wasn't made with broken China pieces.
