jenn(SoCal 9/19)Updated Works for me too. They do get leggy and scraggly, and stems root very well in a pot of regular potting soil even along with other plants in the same pot. It seems they will not die; I've found rooted stems in the compost pile!

hosenemesisUpdated I put them on a bit of a mound. I haven't had trouble disturbing the roots of other plants when I divide. Iris roots are shallow. I water twice a week, and they do okay. Renee
