Here are some of my dahlias in my latest blog
Here is a link that might be useful: dahlia blooms

Gosh. This is the first year I've had tubers AND rooted cuttings, and it's been a HORRID year for growth. I potted up my tubers early too...I've had better luck with tubers this year in regards to plants AND FLOWERS, as I've had flowers on the plants started from tubers...the plants from cuttings are plugging along, no trace of flowers yet. We'll see.

I have ordered practically from almost everyone, and my recommendations go to Swan Dahlias, aka Dahlias.com, Accent Dahlias, Alpen Gardens, and Wynn's. All very realiable. Worst dahlias I have received came from Elhorn gardens in or near Santa Barbara, California. They sent me 1/2 of a bulb, and punny little ones. Will never buy from them again.

oh how heart breaking! and i know that pain. that had happened to me when i lived in the Briarcliff area of Atlanta many years ago. actually it happened several times. yes, the clay soil didn't help, so the following year, i ammended like crazy, which helped tremendously! so when it happened again, i did what 'mandoll' said and it worked.
yes, i did loose a few, but it really worked. you're garden so beautiful, and you have so many that i think it's worth a try!!
your zinnia's are beautiful too! mine are struggling this year. our weather is so unpredictable here in the SF bay area.
good luck!

The McAlister's Pride is new for me. I love it when it isnt fully open, but once it cmpletely open the center is all yellow, and it looses its punch.
Here are a few more from this morning.
Sonic Boom

Pinelands Princess

Candle Light

Arabian Nights

Formby Kaitlin

Plus - these are little Dahlias from seed that I tried this year

just scrumptious! there's my arabian night. mine is a monster (almost 6 feet tall!) and is about to bloom, so i'm excited... it's a first for me. you're is gorgeous.
i'm really digging your formby kaitlin as well. thanks for sharing!
angela :)
ps... how to you keep your leaves so pretty? i'm constantly fighting powedery mildew. i know it's not suppose to hurt them, but it really takes away from their beauty (to me at least..)

Thanks for looking and commenting. The vases and tea pots are the wife's collectable's. My daughter dragged me to the dollar store this morning for vases. We have cats and dogs in the house and everybody is waiting for one of those vases or tea pots to break. They are all back in the display cabinets now. Only to be used for pictures.

The vase belongs to the wife. She was not happy I used it. Made me promise not to break it. She did not remember she has a pair of them till I told her. After taking the shot I put the flowers in a water bottle and returned the vase to the cabinet. My 91 pound German shepards tail is like a club. One hit and no vase.

I keep thinking I need to get Bodacious...
Thanks for looking and comenting every one. I used to have a couple of bodacious plants. I am starting over and hope to have more of this one for next year.
