2ajsmamaUpdated I always write on my lids with a Sharpie, so no question of whether they've already been used. But I don't throw them away! Very useful when storing clean empty jars. Slightly OT, but now the one Walmart has plain 8oz jars for $7....

digdirt2Updated For fresh use - your choice. For canning - not recommended. Just as with tomatoes or any other vegetables that have been exposed to frost, the pH is altered and the potential for contamination increases 10 fold very quickly. Dave
