fresh cut cedar boards

can i use fresh cut cedar boards for raised beds or should i let them cure first

Hi "MarkMcM". I am not a master grower but I had heard somewhere that you should cure first and then use it.

Cedar is a really absorbent wood, and really soaks up mositure. Don't know but I would guess that if you are using cedar for raised beds you would want to paint it or somehow keep it out of contact with the soil to preserve the cedar from rotting out, which it will eventually do.
