New to Forum

Hello people :-)

I'm new to this forum but not new to gardening. I am 60/M/USA/Mississippi. I have severe osteoarthritis & possibly MS (doctors are still tryin to figure it out). I do have documented nerve damage mostly in my legs.

I live in an apartment with my 88 year old father. We both

love gardening and I have a (too large) patio garden and look forward each year to another "gardening year"!

Hi, Amun. What do you grow out there? Do you grow in the ground or in containers?

I grow in containers from 20 inch to 4 inch. I don't think my apartment manager would be too happy if I brought someone in with a jackhammer to tear up the concrete in the patio! LOL

Presently I am growing (with luck & crossed fingers) bamboo, elephant ear, canna, caladium, a few roses for my dad, coleus, liatris and okra (more as an eye catcher).

When I had 7+ acres of land I tore up most of the front yard with a tiller and had lots of stuff (mostly which does'nt do well in containers or in a patio). At one time I had 400 okra plants.

Been gardening at least 35+ years and love it still. Just have to slow down and work within my unavoidable micro-climate patio. There are challanges for sure, but nothing is fool proof.
