Sometimes a more effective time to use Roundup is later in the season (late August). As plants begin to go dormant, some of their substances go back down into the roots. If Roundup is on the leaves, it will also go into the roots more, casuing more damage. Paint the roundup onto the leaves with a brush, to avoid damaging other plants.
