seed pod experiment...... of sorts

Do you remember my plant from the 'my adenium has been neglected, please help' post?

I was waiting for the pod to open before I pruned and re potted it. Patience is DEFINATELY NOT one of my strengths. I already had 29 seedlings so I decided I didn't need anymore seeds and pruned anyway.

The seed pod was put with the cuttings while they were drying before planting.

I totally forgot about the pod untill almost 3 weeks later when I noticed it dried, splitting and the seeds almost ready to fly away.

I decided to plant the seeds and see what happened. I figured they would be rotten or not mature enough as they were off the plant for so long, I really didn't think any would sprout.

I soaked them in cold water for 2 hours and planted and watered them as you would normally. 2 days later 27 of the 31 I planted have germinated!!!!!! OH DEAR! Now I have over 50 babies to look after.

This is the plant the pod came off
