It was recommended to me and what I have done.
You have potted yours up (I am assuming bare root and leafless) in a gritty mix.
Leave them for 4 days without watering them in. Water them with plain water and leave in low light or filtered light area. In a warm ( humidity good ) area.
Do not fertilize until they have produced new leaves and look to be in active growth.

I just received some plants from Rinoa as well about 10 days ago and they are starting to spout tiny leaves. I put them outside in a shady area - it is pretty warm here and watered them once. After about 4 days when the soil was dry, I watered again and they are doing very well. Rinoa sends great plants...

So, why is it that I have to put them in shady spots? I left them right in front of the window until I read Rick's post.

I can only tell you what I have done through information given to me by a number of people with many years of growing Adeniums.
I believe that because they are bare root, leafless and have experience some stress from transit, they require time to acclimatize. Getting about 70% light and once they begin to leaf out, then they can slowly be introduced to sun.
I have moved a couple into the sun too quickly and have had to move into shade.
With all of us living in different parts of the world, it is difficult to know what conditions each of us have.
Hopefully someone can give you a definite answer to your question as to why shade or low light.
