Went to a nursery in Tucson, AZ and this is what theirs looked like...

Bill,

It looks like it could be a A. socotranum based on the stem and caudex. I believe Rick is growing some from seed, and could help.
Laurie, what nursery would that be?

It was Arid Lands Nursery. We visited another one in Tucson (owner is one of the co-authors of the book with Mark Dimmitt). This one is called Plants of the Southwest. Arid Lands Nursery had row and rows of seedlings at the time (arabicum, somalense, socotranum and different crosses). I purchased a boehmianum from Plants of the Southwest hoping it would grow to look like the one they had on display. It was huge! :) Spent hours looking at adeniums that day. Here are some pics.
