Congrats! Looks like it'll be amazing! Can't wait to see more pics when it's fully opened and another when it's a couple of days old. I have one that the buds dropped off last year. It has buds now so fingers crossed they won't drop this year. I've not actually seen it's flowers in person as of yet.

As for the drying off...I have no suggestions. Hopefully someone will chime in with some info.

Thanks Laura!! The buds on another stem are actually what's drying off. The leaves look fine but the buds shriveled and and fell off.
