Nice plant. I prune mine in the spring when I see new grow starting, but I live a different climate than you and my growing season would be only from late April - Sept. at the most.
I have a friend that lives in Florida and he has a nursery there. He lets them flower and then prunes after flowers finish. He usually gets two flushes of blooms in one year, but with a much longer growing season.
If yours is going to bloom now. Was not sure if I was seeing a flower buds on it right now?
You could let it bloom and then give a pruning, but I would think pruning should be done fairly soon if you are going to.

Thanks for the response. It just finished blooming. But we are just now getting into the extreme heat of the summer. It has been 115+ the last 3 days. probably wont drop much below 105 for the next couple months. Something tells me to wait until next spring; but I am trying to fill in the big hole in the center of the plant. I'm only eyeing one or two branches. 1.) the one that's just had the flowers on it. 2.) The vertical branches just to the right. Is there a good time of year to do it? Or do most prune after flowering?

Karmatic, if you plant already finished blooming, this is good time to prune, since only end of June. You still have time.

Your plant is a cutting. You don't see the caudex now, but 10 years from now the roots caudex will be better.

Mary has some gorgeous plants and has been pruning hers for many years.
It can be a hard thing to do for first time, but it definitely makes for a well shaped Adenium and the plus is, you get a multitude of blooms as most branches where cut will produce a few new branches.

I do not miss living in the Las Vegas heat. Was there for 1.5 years back in 2000. I miss the mountains though. When you prune I'd put the plant in a shaded spot for a while so it doesn't get sun burnt.
