Tagging plants

Hello I am Paula. I have been reading silently for a while and I have always grown DRs for the flower. I have a few that I have picked up here and there and hope to get a few more. Here is a question I have. I know Wal-Mart may not be the garden authority but I got a DR last year and it had the perennial tag. Formed a great caudex. This year annual. Still young 1 gal plants so nothing has really started. I was wondering what the difference is and hoping that they are not cuttings. I bought 10 to give as gifts at 4.44 ea. Could not beat that. Hi there and welcome!

I'd say they're all perennials. Some might not go dormant in the winter but will slow down growth at least. I just think who ever makes the tags do such mass production for a lot of different stores that they don't often catch mistakes. At least that's my thinking.
