Chuy, I've had the same with a couple of mine this year. I removed all the leaves before wiping them down with rubbing alcohol, gave them another run over with the alcohol a few days later and left them to leaf out again. Someone else on here can probably advise you better, but it find it best to get rid of the leaves if they are so bad

That looks to me to be a case of spider mite damage to me. It would need to be treated every 5-7 days for a few weeks.
This appearance is typical of mite damage.

Chuy, I treat all my DR with kitchen sink soap.
Sometime it works first time, sometime it takes second time.

Averil, Rick and Marie... Thank you for chiming in and helping me out. I inspected and will show some pictures- I didn't see anything rot of any sort and roots look pretty good to me.
I took all the leaves off as well ;).
Marie- when you say you use kitchen soap.... How do you use it? ;)

I don't know how Marie uses dish soap but I dilute it with water about one 1/2 table spoon to 8-10oz glass and put in my kids squirt gun then we go out and shoot bee/hornet/wasps that infest around our house. Non toxic and works better than ANY commercial stuff we har ever bought. Kills them fast!

Roots look good to go. I also thought it looked more like RSM damage, in fact just like 2 of mine that I just can't clean up. I am also considering stripping them down, brushing and then washing. Will try the soap method as bug sprays are not working for me.

Last winter it was the most humid one in a long time, I had a lot of problems with fungus and found this, and beside the fungus it has helped with mites too and doesnt harm the plants
