Interesting for sure. The same thing is happening with my Beauty Queen. I'm still on the fence if it's a keeper for me or not.

With Rhododendrons, which was my main focus years back. The Rhododendron Society has a rating when purchasing, Flower/Plant/Performance. So you would see below a name 5/2/4 (1 being lowest on scale).
So you can have a beautiful flower on a not so nice plant.
I am finding that there are many adeniums that could have ratings as well over time.
Many have very beautiful blooms, but the plant is a weak grower.
What it comes down to for many i imagine is how much space do you have and do you keep them for flower alone.
