adenium recommendations

I would like to get into adenium but I am not sure what the best choice is for a newbie. I grow a lot of other plants and I have nearly 100 plumeria. I blend my own growing media and I have a handle on fertilization so I just need the basics for growing in SoCal inland area.
Should I get adenium seeds? Are they easy to germinate from seed? Or should I start with a small seedling? I can't afford the larger specimens so the cheaper the better for me. Also, what are some good vendors online? ebay/etsy/amazon all have vendors but in the plumeria world, one has to be very wary of these sellers...especially the ones from Thailand and I figure the same principles apply. I saw some adenium at my local Lowe's when I was plumeria trolling this summer, but when I went back a few weeks later....gone...and the clerk didn't know what I was talking about :/
TIA
