We are still in the 50s at night here, though days have been rainy with hardly any sun. My 4 young obesums are still growing, although I can see the plants are getting more squat. One of my young socotranums has leafed out about a month ago, and the other is still leafless. I fertilized obesums with kelp tea about a week ago - last time for this season. For the winter they will be moving to a south-western windowsill in a rather cool room.
Hopefully, we'll have a nice Indian summer here, so I'm counting on another month or so of growth.

I'm not ready to bring in anything but I do need to start organizing the garage to prepare. So much to do I just can't get motivated to even start the cleaning project.

Kirk, I do want to organize but the mosquitoes are holding me back. They will eat you alive while you out in the garden.

Only September....couple more months....I hope we don't have bad winter like last year.

Yes, I have to spray myself before I even attempt to water or do anything out in the yard as they are so bad. And all this rain is really going to boost their activity in the coming weeks.

I hope our winter is as mild as our summer has been. I'm just not ready for it at all.

I am sorry, I had to laugh at myself. I first started reading the postings between yourself and Marie, at the last one and I read, " Yes, I have to spray myself when I attempt to water". I didn't know what to think, the I went back an saw you where both talking about Mosquitoes. :). What a dumby.
I was suprised to here that you get Mosquitoes there? Thought we wherethe only ones that fought those.

Haha! Yes, our mosquitoes can be so bad they can practically carry you off. It was about 4 years ago they were so bad that between my house on down to Galveston that you would see black clouds floating around and it was thick swarms of them. Even houses on the bay that were white looked black with so many of them resting on the walls.

I've become allergic to them. If one bites my finger or hand it will swell up very badly. Any where else they leave about a three inch marks that stays for days on end. HATE them!
