Yeah thats what made my buy them, the caudexes.
Fairly new to this. How far would you cut them back?
Half way down or more? I'm in NC so that should wait till Spring?
I have in my porch right now. No direct sun for a bit.
I think there's a couple of seed pods too. Look like runner beans.
How often would you water these?

Wow! What a find! That seller must have packed them good not to break those skyscraper branches! And seed pods too? Very cool!

Not really to be honest.
They were in a long box, beaten by Fed Ex a little as normal. There wasn't any packing inside to protect anything. Lucky the cordex wasn't damaged.
I do plan to cut the sky scrapers down some. Not sure how much or when. Not an expert with these.

Those are very nice plants and pruning can wait.
I am interested to know if the seller had a name for them or type they might be?
You don't see many 'Obesum's producing terminal growth all from the same level plane? Just curious?

All were listed as unknown flower if I recall.

I also would wait until the beginning of spring to prune.

If they were mine, I would take 3/4 off of the top of each and frame the cuts so that it will have a flow to the foliage. Like a haircut around the head...
Cut at a 45 degree angle... For best results.. I still would do a hard prune. They are healthy and they will really love this with branching out for you to prove it... I would even start the cuts 4 inches above where the stem meets the Caudex. Sounds drastic, but they can handle it. Just seal...

I would also seal the cuts after 10 minutes or so with a waterproof wood glue to protect the stem from any fungus or rot settling in with the fresh cuts. Cover the surface area and it should be fine. You will see new shoots in a few weeks after pruning and the tree will thank you.
