I bought a 42 zoom camera with a tri-pod and they stopped blooming all but a red one and one orchid. Working with a camera on extreme close up is not easy. Great shots Kirk. beautiful flower on Ploy Prank.

I'm considering investing in a much better macro lens. I want to do some great shots of the great micro details of the flowers.
Maybe Santa will get me one for Christmas. I agree, extreme close ups are not easy. Slightest breeze will cause it to be out of focus. Shadow issues. The list is on going. LOL

Oi, I feel your pain, Kirk. In the meantime, though, you can just get a set of Polaroid screw-on magnifying lenses. You, of course, would have to go full manual. But that's where the fun really is, yes?

This was taken with a 10x screw-on magnifying lens, for example. The bud is actually only an inch long.

Oh, yea, BTW, My Rik Ni Ran still has buds!lol

Not bad for a 10x screw on lens. I only have 2x at the moment. I don't mind going full manual. I'm try to stay away from auto settings as much as possible any way.

So the bud in that picture is the Rik Ni Ran? I told you you'd have to be patient in waiting for the buds to open. Seems like it took the buds of the Rik Ni Ran much longer to open than it does for other blooms.
